EDCO provides Day Forward Scanning Strategy to SSM Health Care – St. Louis

SSM Health Care – St. Louis has elected EDCO® Health Information Solutions‘ day forward medical record scanning services for use at seven area facilities, in conjunction with their electronic health record initiatives. This process will guarantee that all records are available electronically within 24 hours of discharge for downstream processes and patient care.

“After thorough research, we identified that the EDCO solution would enhance the medical record scanning process across our network,” said Hal Holder, vice president of finance for SSM Health Care – St. Louis. “It not only guarantees efficiency in the scanning process by leveraging technology, but it’s also cost-effective for our organization.”

A review of EDCO’s technology and quality control processes demonstrated how EDCO’s day forward scanning solution powered by Solarity® will help the group of facilities greatly reduce associated costs and result in a 24 hour turnaround time for all records post-discharge. Improved chart turnaround time in the scanning process will expedite the revenue cycle and provide access to the chart for faster patient care. The project began in May 2013.
